“It’s adventurous theater packed into a Jetta or a Jeep or an Audi.” - Huffington Post

Blurring the distinction between theater and life, The Car Plays in an environmental event of short plays simultaneously performed inside 15 parked cars on the Community Plaza.

15 Cars; three rows of 5 cars each; each row represents a cycle of 5 plays; Audience members move from car to car to see all 5 plays in one row/cycle

With actors and audience sitting side by side in the front or backseats, Car Plays creates a new performance model of voyeuristic intimacy as it explores LA’s car-obsessed culture.
